New EPIC camera to photograph Earth in a way it has never been before

A Portrait of Global Aerosols, as seen by NASA's GEOS-5 weather model

NOAA's new satellite will capture the sunlit face of Earth in its entirety -- the first time this has happened since the Galileo mission to Jupiter in the 1990s.
