The AK-47 assault rifle was designed in the Soviet Union in the 1940s to fight against fascism. But its design survives into 2015, where it has been used in terrorist attacks in Paris, Kenya and Sousse, Tunisia. It flooded into communist-aligned countries in the 1960s and 1970s, particularly in the Middle East and Africa. But it became a symbol of anti-western terrorism in the hands of Osama bin Laden
