For their exuberantly inventive show Golem, the theatre company 1927 took the folk story of the clay man who comes to life and turned it into a play about the dangers of today's digital world and the ongoing urge to upgrade our lives. The show's geeky hero, Robert, is a wage slave encouraged to broaden his horizons by the Golem. In this scene – which captures the company's eye-catching blend of animation, projections and live performance, complete with infectious music – he consults the Courtomatic to find his perfect match.
